Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is hiring Finance Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the General Manager and Estate Leadership Team to develop, execute, and monitor the estate business strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall Illovo Sugar Malawi strategy.
- Drive the integration of financial discipline into business decision-making by providing rigorous analysis to evaluate and implement value-enhancing initiatives.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly management reports, annual budgets, strategic plans, and financial forecasts.
- Drive financial performance by identifying opportunities for cost optimization, productivity improvement, value creation, and cost mitigation across estate operations.
- Establish and maintain a robust governance and internal control framework that meets corporate and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee the management and delivery of Information Technology (IT) services and systems at the site.
- Ensure effective engagement with the Finance Shared Services Centre (SSC), corporate finance teams, external auditors, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead financial planning, analysis, and investment evaluations, providing recommendations on major business decisions, capital expenditure projects, and strategic initiatives. Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Chartered Accountant (CA(MW)), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification is required.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an additional relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ post-qualification experience in a finance-related role.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in finance management, with demonstrated accountability for financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and controls.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a middle management role, with proven leadership and people management capabilities.
