Job Summary
Barloworld Equipment is the official dealer of the Cat Earthmoving Equipment for construction, power generation, and mining, and genuine Cat Parts with operations in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, and joint ventures in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Barloworld Equipment also holds full ownership of the main dealership on the Iberian Peninsula and joint partnerships in Eastern Russia and Siberia dealerships.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out repairs, services, and maintenance on Generator sets on customer sites.
- Diagnose and repair problems with generator sets, transfer switches, switchgear, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Carry out generator set installations and commissioning.
- Conduct site-specific inspections and generator set sizing in line with customer requirements.
- Ensure safe work practices by complying with required regulations/ legislation.
- Maintain a professional image when representing BWE on customer sites.
- Quickly and efficiently, deal with all customer generator sets breakdowns to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
- Compile accurate technical analysis reports to guide in decision-making.
- Effective self-management and performance ownership
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Qualified in relevant trade i.e. Grade One National Trade Test Certificate in Electrical Installation or Auto-Electrical, Tevet Diploma in Automobile Engineering.
- Generator set specific technical knowledge and skills.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic technical report writing
- Basic business and financial understanding
- Some Computer Literacy (SIS, STW & ET) knowledge
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies & and procedures.
- Applicable product knowledge
