Job Summary

The CEO will provide strategic, operational, and ecosystem leadership to scale mHub into a nationally anchored, regionally competitive, and globally connected innovation institution. The CEO will drive institutional sustainability, attract catalytic capital, build novel partnerships, and launch ground-breaking programmes aligned with global digital economy trends. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • 1. Strategic Leadership & Institutional Growth
    • Develop and execute a forward-looking 5–10 year strategy aligned with AI, climate tech, fintech, digital public infrastructure, and creative industries.
    • Position mHub as a national and regional thought leader in digital transformation and entrepreneurship.
    • Strengthen governance, compliance, operational systems, and impact measurement frameworks.
  • 2. Ecosystem & Partnership Development
    • Build transformative partnerships with government, private sector, development partners, venture capital, academia, and global tech firms.
    • Establish regional and international innovation linkages to expand market access for startups.
    • Represent mHub in high-level national, regional, and global platforms.
  • 3. Programme & Venture Development
    • Design and scale world-class incubation and acceleration programmes.
    • Strengthen startup pipelines, venture readiness, and access to capital.
    • Integrate AI, emerging technologies, and green innovation into programming.
    • Expand inclusive innovation initiatives targeting youth, women, and underserved communities.
  • 4. Resource Mobilisation & Financial Sustainability
    • Lead diversified fundraising strategies across grants, corporate partnerships, impact investment, and revenue-generating services.
    • Ensure prudent financial management, budgeting, and compliance with donor and statutory requirements.
    • Build a hybrid sustainability model balancing impact and revenue.
  • 5. Organisational Leadership & Culture
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, experimentation, and excellence.
    • Oversee performance management and institutional capacity development.

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Technology, Innovation Management, Economics, Public Policy, Entrepreneurship, or related field.
  • MBA or equivalent executive leadership qualification is an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree backed by extensive, high-caliber experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship development, technology institutions, venture capital, or digital transformation.
  • Proven experience leading an incubator, accelerator, innovation hub, startup ecosystem, or comparable institution,programmes.
  • Demonstrated success in mobilising significant funding from development partners, private sector, or investors.
  • Track record of launching and scaling high-impact programmes or ventures.
  • Strong financial management and governance experience.
  • Experience working with government, donors, private sector, and international partners.
  • Deep understanding of emerging technologies including AI, digital platforms, and innovation-driven enterprise models.
