About the Company

Salima Sugar Co. Ltd. owns about 4,000 hectares of land and currently, 1,000 hectares of land is under cultivation. The farm and factory are located next to Lake Malawi which is the second largest lake in Africa Drip, flood and pivot irrigation is used for sugarcane crop depending on its suitability. Currently, the capacity of the factory is 1250 TCD this can be expanded to 1850 TCD.

Job Summary

An ICT Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the acquisition, development, maintenance, and use of computer and telecommunication systems within an organization. They ensure that technology supports the organization’s goals by developing and implementing ICT strategies, policies, and plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formulating and directing ICT strategies,
  • Providing leadership to align operational activities with the organization’s vision and goals.
  • Overseeing the security of ICT systems.
  • Directing the selection and installation of ICT resources.
  • Developing and maintaining the systems architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange and network interconnection.
  • Managing ICT systems and maintenance agreements with suppliers.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Managing information technology projects or system activities.
  • Identifying information technology project resource requirements.
  • Developing and implementing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Directing ICT operations and setting priorities between system developments, maintenance, and operations.
  • Ensuring the availability and reliability of ICT services.
  • Overseeing the development, maintenance, and communication of system documentation, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyzing information needs and specifying technology to meet those needs.
  • Providing user training and support.
  • Assessing risks to networks, systems, or data, and specifying recovery routines and contingency procedures.
  • Managing crisis situations involving complex technical hardware or software problems.
  • Mentoring and training new ICT support staff.
  • Building relationships with senior management and stakeholders to secure support for ICT initiatives.
  • Managing and reviewing the ICT Services
  • Capital and Revenue budgets.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from accredited University coupled with five years’ experience on a similar position. Those with excellent skills and knowledge of ERP will have an added advantage.
