Sharpen Jobs Ltd is a human resource consultancy firm specializing in comprehensive HR solutions, including recruitment, HR management, manpower outsourcing, payroll management, HR advisory, and capacity-building training for our clients’ staff. As part of our expansion, we are growing our job portal services into new markets to efficiently connect job seekers with top employers.

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to drive the adoption of our portal by onboarding companies and securing job, consultancy, and tender postings in Malawi. This role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to gain hands-on experience in sales, marketing, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  1.  Client Acquisition & Business Development
  • Actively identify and approach potential employers to post job vacancies, consultancy, and tender opportunities on the Sharpen Jobs Job Portal in Malawi.
  • Pitch the benefits of our job portal to HR managers, recruiters, and business owners.
  • Conduct field visits, cold calls, and online outreach to generate leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring they understand the portal’s value.
  1. Marketing & Outreach
  • Promote the job portal through social media, networking events, and business forums.
  • Work with the marketing team to implement localized campaigns to attract companies.
  • Distribute promotional materials, brochures, and presentations to potential clients.
  1. Sales & Revenue Generation
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales targets for jobs, consultancy, and tender posting.
  • Educate companies on special offers, discounts, and premium services available on the portal.
  • Provide basic onboarding support to new clients, ensuring they successfully post their jobs.
  1. Reporting & Market Feedback
  • Keep track of leads, conversions, and sales progress using CRM reports.
  • Provide feedback on market trends, competition, and employer hiring needs.
  • Regularly report progress to the direct line manager.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, HR, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in sales, customer service, or HR is a plus.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Confident, persuasive, and comfortable talking to businesses.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to meet and exceed targets.
  • Basic understanding of recruitment, HR, or job markets is an advantage
