Job Summary

UbuntuNet Alliance is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development and operation of advanced digital services for research and education networks across Eastern and Southern Africa.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enterprise systems administration
  • Cloud infrastructure management
  • E-infrastructure service delivery
  • Technical support
  • Collaboration with regional and international partners

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Linux and Windows systems
  • OpenStack and Proxmox environments
  • Systems security
  • Programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • A minimum of five years’ relevant experience and a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is required

About UbuntuNet Alliance

UbuntuNet Alliance is registered as a Trust in Malawi and operates as a not-for-profit business entity, providing connectivity and other value-added services to member National Research and Education Networks across Eastern and Southern Africa. It also manages projects supported by development partners, especially the European Union.
